The kid

I look back and see a kid

Disturbed with himself with the way he lived

Tried things, vowed he’ll never quit

Gathered the broken pieces and started to rebuild

After few years he looks in the mirror

One day, he sees a beard

Astonished! He thinks about the time he most feared

He’s growing up and the kid has disappeared.

Expectations get bigger each day

It’s time to turn the dreams into reality someday

He has to be careful with what he does today

As it will become history one day.

He still feels like he’s a kid

Same old innocence and same old grin.

Though he realizes he is older

He knows he cannot carry the heavy weight on his shoulder.

He is young and there’s lot to learn

Wisdom is not given, it is earned.

What will future bring?

He sighs as he thinks.

Why do you write if no one reads?

Why do you write if no one reads? Few people have asked me this question.

So here I want to reason why it is such an important thing for me to keep writing.

It feels like I have pulled off a massive weight off my chest. My mind does crazy things and I have a tendency to over think. Writing always helps me to process my thoughts and be well connected with them. I do not do this to please others but myself.

Often some people do tell me that what I am saying is quite right but then they question why I do not always follow my own advice if I know so much. The simple answer is it is the first step to acknowledge the stuff that brings you down and knowing what you can do to change it but we humans have emotions as well. Only knowing and being aware is not enough. We need time to better ourselves as well. Life is like a rollercoaster ride. There are always ups and down and that is what most people actually fail to realize. We experience happiness, sadness, fear, love, rejection, dejection, loneliness, excitement, anxiety etc. and this is what makes it all wonderful yet terrifying at the same time. So, thinking that wisdom and intelligence are going to cover your every flaw is a misconception because human beings are flawed and they make mistakes even if they don’t want to.

Coming back to my original point of why I write even if no one is willing to read, I do it for fun, for the pure joy of it and that is rare stuff. Finding something which you can do just for the heck of it is the most satisfying and calm feeling that we can experience.

Stop pretending

Stop pretending everything’s fine.

Others don’t give a damn neither a dime.

Life struggles are reality, not a sin or a crime.

It’s hard to keep it in,

When everything falls apart and nothing’s fine.

I see others having fun and enjoying.

I just wish all those good things and happiness were mine.

But I am left here, sitting in a small dark room crying.

Wipe the tears flowing from your eyes.

Happy endings are not true, those are lies.

Somebody save me, these inner demons will finish me and lead to my demise.

Even if it happens, I won’t be surprised.

I am used to it now, I won’t go down but I’ll rise.

The only option is to climb upwards.

There is nothing at the end if I go downwards.

Shoot for the moon and hit the stars,

Just to see how much can I travel.

Will I end up here or go too far?

It’s not about reaching the stars,

It’s all about healing those scars.

I suffered from reckless pain back then,

So I will not give up until I breathe or unless I am dead.

Stop pretending things were fine always.

There is nothing to be afraid of and you have already found solace.

You have a family and loads of friends,

nothing to lose and nothing to gain.

Things don’t work like that though,

Reality is real, even if you want it to be unreal, it sometimes seems surreal.

On the surface, nothing is dirty, everything is clear.

Hoping things will get better soon,

‘Cause I feel relaxed and content,

only once in a blue moon.

Trying to think outside the box.

Trying to be as clever as a fox.

Trying to climb up on the longest wall.

Trying to defy all the odds.

Hope is there as it has always been.

I wish to see those things which I have never seen.

Be as noble as I can get, as noble as no one has ever been.

Don’t have a debt under your belt.

It’s hard to repay and impossible to forget.

Lagging behind you is not an option.

Nagging you constantly is only the solution.

I imagine doing things that no one does.

Imagine thinking those things to whom all that never occurs.

Imagine saying things aloud but only find myself whisper.

This life is a struggle, man! It’s a roller coaster.

Don’t waste it on blame games.

No use calling each other lame names.

Focus on your main aim

Haters will have nothing to say but display shame.

That’s when you know you’re a winner.

You’re a real life hero and not a hero in fiction.

Aggression

Aggression is destructive but sometimes necessary. Lately, it has been evident to me that whenever I am playing a sport such as football/soccer, I get quite aggressive.

Most people project their aggression by doing drugs, fighting and getting out their frustration on others by yelling at them.

However, the reason why I said that aggression is sometimes necessary is because, for a guy like me, it is tool to get me focused and determined.

Whenever someone sparks the aggression within me, it feels like that I have some paranormal powers to get things done. Aggression motivates me to do things right and make my life better.

Lesson of the day: Project your aggression in the tasks which have positive reinforcement attached to it rather than projecting them to receive negative reinforcement.

Ultimate downfall

Sometimes a person feels that they have done a lot in their life.

They think a few achievements here and there have earned them the right to act arrogant and the world must bow down before them.

In reality, they attract nothing but a lot of hate.

While confidence is the key to take further positive steps in life, people must be aware that over confidence will do more harm than good.

Over confidence destroys the ability to learn new things. It stops people to expand their horizons.

Always remember to stay on the ground.

Over confidence will be your ultimate downfall.

Escapism!

Escape from the reality, but never forget that you’re only a guest in your fantasy land”.

Don’t you love living in a fantasy world where there are no restrictions whatsoever? Many of us love to take some time off from this busy world and explore an imaginary land inside our mind. Too much of denial of realistic world and escaping the existing realities of life and being lost in your own reverie is called “escapism”. When there are those difficult times where we are unable to cope up with the harsh realities of life, it is natural to fantasize about things which are almost impossible to occur in real life. Although, it’s important you don’t entirely dissociate from the outside world.

There are plenty of good reasons why you must avoid living in your imaginary land and pay attention to your real life as well as real people around you. How do you think you’re going to reach your goals? It’s not like one day you’ll wake up and it’ll be like oh! There you have it. Everything you’ve ever wanted is just in front of you. No, it doesn’t work like that. You have to earn it. Certainly, nothing will be served to you on a plate, you gotta work hard.

It also highly affects your social relations especially for young adults for whom it is a time to build a career. If you’re never interacting with the your fellow humans then it’ll affect your inter-personal relationships in a negative way. So, escapism can cause an enormous damage to your life as a whole. Also, the people who practice escapism tend to be a lot more depressed. It’s not at all surprising because there’s a greater chance that you’d tend to feel lonely when you’re lost in your own world. There’s really nobody to accompany you, except your thoughts and self-made characters.

So why would you need escapism to escape the real life? It’s going to make things a lot worse so I’d say just try to limit your time and always remember to buy a return ticket to reality after visiting your fantasy land.

Good vs Bad- What’s the truth?

It’s always fun when you get into a discussion with a friend, doesn’t matter what the conversation is about and out of nowhere you start a conversation about the concept of “Good” and “bad”. We were just talking like two buddies usually talk and suddenly, we were discussing whether “good” or “bad” even exists or not.

good-or-bad

We all have our own opinions and that was the moment our curious minds were out for a hunt for a reasonable answer. We were curious about the things which are termed as “good” or “bad” according to society’s standards. Like, you know, something which is good for a person might completely be inappropriate for another so from where do these concepts come from? It was not a very lengthy argument but thereafter when I came back home, had already waited for a light snack on that warm evening I started to think about the idea more deeply.

There were circumstances I was making up in my mind which had both positive and negative outcomes of it. For exempli gratia, you have a friend who wants your help but you’ve already set up your plans for the day but your friend keeps reminding you that “a friend in need is a friend indeed” but you just know that you can’t change plans because you’ve already made a promise to someone. You’d feel that your friend is childish if he doesn’t understand your situation but, anyway, if he fails to understand the circumstances which you’re facing then you’d termed as a “bad” friend.

On the other hand, in a similar scenario you decide that you can make adjustment in your schedule and help your friend then you’d be termed as a “good” friend. See how perceptions can change by your single decision? So, who are we to decide what’s good or bad? Well, we judge only according to our society’s norms so the concept of “good” and “bad” are only a point of view of a person. So how do we know what is actually “good” or “bad”?

So the bottom line is: We have created these concepts by our own standards so what is the truth? What is good or bad? Well, I guess we don’t have an answer yet.
